Paul, an Irish National worked for a security transit company for 20 years. He was the Trade Union representative. Paul came to me about a road traffic accident. Paul sustained an injury to his neck and back due to an accident at the entrance to the transit company. Paul had finished a delivery and was returning in a Ford transit van. The car in front of him was a Lexus CT 200h. The Lexus braked suddenly. The client went into the back of the Lexus and injured himself. Normally, Paul would be responsible in an accident such as this, as he went into the rear of the other vehicle. However, Paul was able to produce emails to the management team, complaining that the van had not been serviced properly and that specifically, there was a problem with the brakes. This was backed up by the service history of the van which was obtained. Paul recovered €35,000 after a court case.
