Back injuries are split in to four categories – Minor, moderate, severe, and most severe. This depends on the damage sustained and how long it takes to heal.

Minor Back Injury – Between €500 and €12,000. This depends on the length of time the back injury takes to heal, whether is it 6 months or 2 years.

Moderate Back Injury – Between €35,000 and €55,000 plus any Loss of Earnings. This is a more serious injury with a longer-term disability.

Severe Back Injury – Between €50,000 and €140,000 plus any Loss of Earnings. A severe back injury includes nerve damage or serious disability and long term pain, usually requiring surgery.
