Conveyancing is the legal process by which the legal ownership of a property is transferred from one person to another (i.e. buying or selling a property), or a mortgage is taken out on a property. The transactions covered include purchases, sales, transfers of property into joint names following marriage, and transfers between spouses following separation.
The process normally takes six to eight weeks from when a deposit is placed on a property.
