On a bright cold January morning, the client was driving his Honda Deauville 680 cc touring bike to work. He came off the M50 at Exit 14 and came down the Drummartin Link Road. He was stopped first at the lights at the Golden Grill. The lights went green and he took off. He went around a slight left-hand bend and suddenly saw a car in front of him across the roadway. He couldn’t press his brakes on time and his front wheel went into the wheel arch of the car.
The driver of the other vehicle was drunk and was charged with dangerous driving. The client’s tibia was cracked length-ways. His collarbone was cracked and broken. The client suffered acute stress, severe concussion, right facial head contusion, acute neck sprain, right thorax contusion and right clavicle fracture.
The matter was settled outside the High Court two years later for €120,000. The client was very happy with the result.
Despite the numerous injuries, the client made an almost full recovery and is back on his beloved motorbike again.
The above story is true. However, the names of the people involved and the locations have been changed to protect their privacy.
